Nikkoru no Tabi

An 11 volume and counting novella series chronicling the travels of an orphaned bishounen named Nikkoru no Tabi and his talking enchanted pogo stick. Created by Kitten Champion and Nikkoru after a violent child's cough syrup-induced rumination on what would happen if you combined The Little Prince, Galaxy Express 999, The Incredible Hulk TV series, Amethyst: Princess of Gemstone, and took away all semblance of plot, direction, and insightful storytelling.

The series launched The Shinku-san Corporation's Books and Other Depressing Diverts Collegium. It remains the only output from the branch to have its own series, excluding the annually updated autobiography of Shinku-san. A movie and direct-to-video animation series release is planned to coincide with the conclusion of the El Unchained story arc.

A manga adaptation of the series is being produced by Shinku-san Comics, and is scheduled to be released in 2007.

Plot notes

Much of the overarching plot of the series revolves around Nikkoru's search for a No. 4 Flanged Left-Handed Spring with which to fix his pogo stick. In volume 1, Nikkoru acquires the pogo stick (for free, as it is broken) and enchants it to be able to speak using a yellow gemstone he finds in a junk shop. The duo's ongoing quest is frequently thwarted by Grey Knight, furryjonny, and The Shinku-san Corporation, each of which have their own purposes for No. 4 Flanged Left-Handed Springs. On both previous occasions on which Nikkoru successfully acquires one (Volumes 5 and 9), it has been stolen away (by Grey Knight and furryjonny, respectively) shortly thereafter.
